Today is the 40th anniversary of the ultra-camp Batman TV series from the 1960s, starring, of course, Adam West. I had a serious obsession with that show. Watching those reruns was an early TV ritual for me.

I went through at least three of these, and lost the Robin with every one of them. I learned about loss that way:
