It must have been increasingly difficult for guys like Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis to take these demeaning, yet necessary, movie promos seriously, and not completely mock the entire process, which is exactly what they do during the recording of this one for their 1953 film The Caddy. The Caddy was the tenth movie for Martin and Lewis. They did a total of seventeen, each one increasingly more formulaic and stupid (although I do enjoy 1955's Artists and Models and their last, in 1956, Hollywood or Bust).
