I always loved that song. Do you know the band Pugwash? From Ireland and very XTC-Beatles-Jeff Lynne-influenced. I believe they've co-written with Andy Partridge.
Skylarking is sort of XTC's Sgt. Pepper, in my opinion. A great album. I've heard about Pugwash, and I think you are right that Partridge is/was somehow involved. Maybe he produced?
Ha ha, Claudia - I don't think they are actually "skylarking" (definition 3). Either way, it was a slumber party you almost had...if we hadn't sucked...which we do......
