James Byron Dean was in three films: East of Eden (1955), Rebel Without a Cause (1955), and Giant (1956). Only East of Eden was released before his death, on September 30, 1955. In Giant, we see Dean, as Jett Rink, age before our very eyes in the way we would be unable to witness in real life. I've read that as rescue workers attempted to remove Dean from his crumpled Porsche Spyder, they initially believed whoever it was to be a much older man. Dean's hair was still shaved back to look as if he had a receding hairline.
