"Dream"



One of Frank Sinatra's favorite lyricist/song writer, Johnny Mercer, wrote "Dream" in 1944. Sinatra had a #5 hit with it, spending seven weeks on the charts in 1945. Here is that version, recorded by Frankie while still under contract with Columbia, arranged by Axel Stordhal:





While I certainly love the Columbia version, I prefer the more mature version Sinatra did on his 1960 Nice 'n' Easy album. Quite frankly, in 1945, Sinatra had not yet really had the experience of "feeling blue" in the way he had by 1960:
