Yes, the legendary Max Steiner composed two of the most evocative and instantly recognizable movie themes of all time: Tara's Theme from Gone With The Wind and the Molly and Johnny Theme, better known as the Theme from A Summer Place.
I did a post about "Tara's Theme (My Own True Love)" a while back as a matter of fact. Agreed, they are each instantly recognizable. Classics.
