Jasper, Texas (population: 8,247) is Jasper County Seat, and is 67 miles N of Beaumont, 55 miles SE of Lufkin, and 74 miles SE of Nacogdoches. The County was named for American Revolutionary hero Sgt. William Jasper.
The Jasper County Courthouse (c. 1889, Renaissance Revival) - the architect Eugene Heiner designed this one, as well as the Colorado County Courthouse in Columbus.
