Chris Penn was found dead in California. No word, as of yet, of the cause. I just heard about this (9:34 PM central time). It's a shock. His IMDb page.
In several of his films, he typically played the main character's best friend, or something similar, so I felt like I knew him. He had a likeable, harmless quality. My favorite film of his is the excellent At Close Range. He of course plays the brother of Sean Penn in that one. He was also good in a very small role in the underappreciated Coppola film Rumble Fish (Stewart Copeland's soundtrack is awesome).
