Shariff don't like it
Iranian hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
Hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has banned Western music from
Iran's radio and TV stations, reviving one of the harshest cultural decrees from the early days of 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Described in the Associated Press report as regularly accompanying Iranian broadcasts are George Michael's lust inducing "Careless Whisper", Eric Clapton's ode to hurrying about, "Rush", and "Hotel California", by The Eagles, and we all know why that song would get banned. One can't be too sure what "calitas" are, exactly. When you hear who the final example cited in the article is, Kenny G, it suddenly all makes perfect sense, and one can understand, and almost begin to see the appeal of a society with no Western influence. Almost.
Next, we'll be hearing that the Iranian president claims the Holocaust never happened, or Israel should wiped off the face of the globe, or something completely nutty like that.
